► THE STORY BEHIND THE DESIGN
I used a real leaf to create the original sterling silver leaf design used in these earrings. Copies of the leaf are made using lost wax casting, and then each leaf is given a special, extra heavy rose gold plating, for long last wearability. The ear wires used are from 14K rose gold filled wire, which is also very durable, and safe for those with allergies. So much thought and love go into each pair of earrings! Enjoy!
A note about plating: Normal gold plated jewelry usually contains less than 1 micron of gold plating. Burnish vermeil gold jewelry is given an extra thick 2.5 micron gold plate over sterling silver, for extra long lasting wearability. Many jewelry items that claim to be vermeil, actually have a much thinner layer of gold than what is required by the FTC to be called vermeil. Additionally, no nickel has been used in the plating (to avoid any allergic reactions), and an extra clear e-coat has been added at the end to extend the life of the gold even longer.
